QMAP is a time capsule of queer experience—an archive of mail art collected from LGBTQIA+ people around the world to be preserved, displayed, and ultimately revealed 100 years from now.
Each piece of mail is kept unopened and will remain that way for a century. In 2125, the collection will begin to be unsealed, scanned, and made publicly accessible as a digital archive and physical exhibition. Until then, the works will be exhibited in their original sealed form, honoring both the presence and weight of what’s been sent.
Inspired by the Future Library in Oslo created by Katie Paterson, QMAP is a slow, intentional act of queer preservation—creating a record not for the moment, but for the future, hoping to inspire unfettered vulnerability and honesty. Anyone can participate. No curating, no barriers to participation: just writing, drawings, photos, and more; sent through the mail, collecting queer history for our future.
